I'm 28 and I started smoking when I was 12. I smoked until I was 19, then quit for 2 years. One day I was out with some friends at a local dance club and most of the friends I was with were smoking. A thought entered my mind, "Just one won't hurt."
I was wrong: that one was all it took and I was back to smoking as if I had never quit. I smoked for about 2 years and decided to quit again. I quit for another 2 years and then the same thought entered my mind, "Just one won't hurt." I've now been smoking again for about 3 years.
Thanks to QuitNet and its members I have become inspired once again to quit. I truly believe that thanks to the support I've found on QuitNet, this will be my last quit.
Advice:
"Just one won't hurt"- don't believe it! Just one is enough to send you plummeting back to the bottom of the mountain that you have worked so hard to climb.
